About me

Hi, I'm Renata,
I'm a contemporary Czech artist specializing in semi-abstract sea and landscapes, occasionally venturing into portraiture. My art blends traditional techniques with unconventional methods to create expressive, abstract pieces.
Drawing from memory, I aim to evoke feelings of intimacy and isolation, leaving interpretation open to the viewer. Inspired by the seasons and influenced by masters like Twombly, Motherwell, and Vermeer,
I infuse my work with the colors and shapes of the landscape around me, giving them an abstract quality.
Surface preparation the canvas is paramount; I layer primer for texture, allowing my marks to take root and facilitating fluid paint movement.
Using thin glazes on a limited palette, I build up layers where base colors emerge through subsequent applications, often shaped by sanding or drawing. This process guides the painting's direction, with original elements reintegrated as needed.
Characterized by rich textures, layers, poured paint, and distinctive brush strokes, my paintings offer a departure from mass visuals, appealing to private collectors worldwide.
I'm honored to be recognized on platforms like SaatchiArt and Artfinder, where I am regularly featured.
